Hello and Welcome to Year 1
- In Year 1 we always strive to reach our full potential. We are actively encouraged to be independent and use our phonic knowledge to develop our reading and writing skills.
- We are happy, enthusiastic learners who love to learn about the World Around Us. We have enquiring minds and love to challenge ourselves. We try our best and produce work we are proud of.
This half term, our PE lessons are on a WEDNESDAY. Please come to school wearing your full PE kit on this day.
Reading
Please encourage your child to read every night for around 5-10 minutes. Reading with your child will help them to develop a confidence and life-long love of reading as well as going a long way to removing this as a potential barrier to their learning.
We use Oxford Owl and Oxford Reading Buddy as our online reading platforms.
