In Year Five homework is given out on a Monday to be returned for Friday. It consists of spellings, Times Tables and Comprehension or Maths. Spelling tests are on Fridays and Rock Stars’ Times Tables tests are three times a week.
PE kits are to be brought into school at the beginning of every half term and will be returned home at the end of half term. PE normally takes place on Wednesday except when there are sporting events, in which case PE will be rescheduled.
Class Worship takes place every Tuesday and Thursday. These consist of Heart Prayer, Meditation, Gospel Stories, discussing Picture News and Liturgical calendar events.
Young Leaders Award (YLA)
The Young Leaders Award promotes courageous advocacy and global citizenship. Please keep an eye out for updates and community events.
World Book Day
Today we dressed up as our favourite book character. In the morning we were introduced to our new book ‘Flotsam’ by David Wiesner.
During the afternoon we performed the classical narrative poem ‘The Highwayman’ by Alfred Noyes to Y2 and shared books with them.
As part of our Young Leaders Award we recently took a walk around our community to see what we could improve or help with.
We recently visited the Reducate Centre in Anfield to learn about how to fight against racism.
