St Margaret’s Anfield CE Primary School ensures that the children in our care learn in a safe, caring and enriching environment. Children will learn to keep themselves safe, to develop positive and healthy relationships and to avoid situations where they may be at risk of being exploited.

The school has a statutory responsibility to share any concerns we may have about a child, in need of protection, with other agencies including police, health and children’s services. School is not able to investigate concerns but does have a legal duty to refer them. In most instances school inform parents/carers of the need to make a referral. However, there are occasions when Children’s Services and/or police will not allow school to communicate with parents/carers whilst they investigate an incident. We understand the anxiety parents/carers understandably feel when they are not told about any concerns from the outset but sometimes school is not legally allowed to contact families and St Margaret’s Anfield will always follow legislation that aims to act in the interests of the child.

St Margaret’s Anfield CE Primary School will always seek to work in partnership with parents and other agencies alike to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child and the family.
