Defending your child against flu
As part of the NHS childhood flu immunisation programme, the nasal spray flu vaccine:
- Helps to build up a child’s immunity in a similar way to natural infection.
- Contains live viruses that have been weakened to help prevent flu. This means that if your child receives the flu vaccine and comes into contact with these flu viruses again, their immune system is more prepared to help fight off the infection.
