Art and Design

At St Margaret’s Anfield CE Primary School, children love being creative. In school, children are given a variety of opportunities to apply their creativity and imagination during their Art and Design lessons. Children are taught art and design skills from Nursery through to Year 6.

The children are given the opportunity to explore using a wide range of tools and techniques. This equips them with the knowledge and skills to explore making their own pieces of art. We give children the opportunity within lessons to work on their own and collaborate with others, on projects in two and three dimensions and on different scales. They are exposed to different artists and have an opportunity create their own art work in the style of an artist they have studied.

At St Margaret’s Anfield, children’s art work is celebrated in many different ways. It is displayed on display boards in the classroom and corridors and we have exhibitions to showcase the children’s art work.
